Sherman House was purchased by the College from Professor P.D. Sherman in 1946 or 1947. It was used as a rental property except 1948-49, when it was used as a women's residence as an emergency measure because of the removal of Churchill and Fairchild Cottages. The structure was demolished at some point; the site is now part of the parking lot near the Lewis Center for Environmental Studies.Source
