History

This gabled front, side hallway house is a vernacular or folk house and retains many historic features. City directories and Sanborn Fire Insurance maps do not indicate this house at 66 N. Pleasant Street prior to 1927. However, the older style of this shingled house and building materials indicate that the house may have been moved to its current location or altered from a previous structure. The house has carried the names Tuck, Sakellar, Michell and Kmetz for the various owners and residents there. Oberlin College purchased the house in 2003, and offers it to students in its Village Housing program.
