History
In 1968, to alleviate crowding in the 1937 Clarence Ward addition, the Art Department was given possession of the house on the corner of E. Lorain St. and Willard Court, previously known as the Starr-Herrick House. The basement and first floor were used for sculpture classes while the second floor was used for semi-private studios. As of 2010 when it was included in the Ohio Historic Inventory, the building was used as storage by the Allen Memorial Art Museum, which covered the 2nd story windows with vinyl siding. It is now the home of art faculty studios. At 164 E. Lorain St., a former automobile dealership building was purchased by the college in 1988 and converted to its current configuration to provide art faculty with research studios.Sources
