History
This brick house with a frame porch was built in about 1884, and was purchased by the College in 1913. It was named in honor of Charles Henry Churchill, a professor at Oberlin College for 48 years who owned the house. It was remodelled in the summer of 1913 for use as a house of residence for women. It accommodated eighteen persons, who took their meals elsewhere. Churchill Cottage was torn down in June of 1948 to make room for Harkness House.Source
