History
The multi-use, LEED East College Street Project owned and developed by Sustainable Community Associates broke ground in 2008 and was completed in 2010. Oberlin College purchased 7,000 square feet in the complex for its Alumni Association offices and the Art Department's new art gallery and studio. The College retained the Cleveland firm KA, Inc. Architecture to design the interiors of these three spaces. Thirteen-foot ceilings were realized by utilizing exposed mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The layout allowed visual control of the access to three separate spaces at one location. It also allowed the three uses to share a refreshment area and support space for various functions. The building shell is LEED Certified and the interior adhered to LEED elements.Source
